Interesting Facts Related with CNC Plasma Cutting

Before knowing how a CNC Plasma Cutter works, a user should know what Plasma is all about. In a simple language, Plasma is the fourth state of matter. After liquid, gas and solid; plasma is the fourth state.

Peripherals that Are Made from Plasma System

There are three kinds of CNC Plasma Cutting machines which are made from Plasma system.

  •  The Heavily Used CNC Plasma Torch- Providing accurate alignment and cooling of the consumables is the utility of CNC Plasma torch. The main consumable segments required for Plasma arc generation are electrode, nozzle and swirl ring.

  • The Plasma Power Supply System- Plasma power supply system can revamp single or three phase AC line voltage into smooth DC voltage ranging from 200 to 400 virtual design and construction.

  •  The Device Called Arc Starting Console- The ASC generally produces AC voltage ranges 5000 VAC at 2 MHz which is capable of producing spark inside the plasma torch for generating the Plasma arc.

Demarcation of Plasma Systems in Conventional and Precision Category
There is a primary difference which exists between conventional and precision Plasma devices.
The conventional plasma devices use shop air as the plasma gas and shape of the Plasma arc can be described as orifice of the nozzle. Basically all the handheld systems use conventional plasma but some mechanized application also use conventional plasma.

High density of current is used in precision CNC Plasma Cutting machines. These precision plasma devices are used to get sharpest and precise quality of cuts. The precision devices are capable of producing complex design. Various kinds of gases like oxygen, high purity air, nitrogen, hydrogen etc. is used in precision category of Plasma machines.

These CNC Plasma cutting devices can cut through any molten metal. Even in more developed gadgets of today, a pilot arc is used between electrode and nozzle for making the cut more accurate.
